Elizabeth City β In a long-awaited drought-ending moment for the Pasquotank County Panthers, Pasquotank finds itself hosting the second round of the 2A playoffs, matching up with No. 11 seed Princeton High School this Friday night at Pasquotank County High School.
The Panthers were idle last Friday, giving the Pasquotank coaching staff time to hit the road and scout the Bulldogs. What they saw was a dynamic Princeton offense that piled up 337 rushing yards β nearly three and a half football fields β in a 54β18 first-round win over Beddingfield.
Built-Up Energy
Coming off their Halloween-night upset of the Northeastern Eagles, the Panthers have had time to soak in the moment before shifting their focus toward earning their first home playoff win since 2010.
Key Players
Jayon Harris continues to be the engine of this team, recording 82 carries for 792 yards this season. Heβs also becoming a force defensively, developing into a true ball hawk. His interception off Zak Ishman helped propel the Panthers to that upset win two weeks ago.
Quarterback Josiah Bennett is also beginning to come into his own within the offensive system. Over the last two weeks, he has started to find rhythm with his receiving corps, who are stepping up and making plays for him.
