Camden Belts Northwest Halifax In No Doubter First Round Playoff Game

Camden- Camden County wasted no time making a statement in the opening round of the playoffs, delivering a dominant performance in a 19-0 victory over Northwest Halifax on Tuesday night.

The Bruins set the tone immediately, unleashing an explosive 12-run first inning that effectively decided the game before the Vikings could settle in. From top to bottom, Camden’s lineup applied relentless pressure, showcasing the offensive firepower that has made them a dangerous team down the stretch.

Taking a strategic approach on the mound, Camden relied on a pitch-by-committee effort, trusting its depth while allowing the offense to take control early. The plan worked flawlessly. Bruins pitchers combined to strike out 13 batters over five innings, keeping Northwest Halifax’s offense completely silent.

Offensively, Camden County’s bats were electric.

Carson Gibbs led the charge with a standout performance, finishing with 3 runs, 2 hits, and 2 RBIs, consistently creating problems for the Vikings. Close behind, Chase Sanders delivered key hits of his own, driving in 3 RBIs, while Makai Benfield added 2 RBIs to the tally.

It wasn’t just a few standout performances—the entire lineup contributed. Camden’s ability to string together quality at-bats and drive the ball across the field made them a constant threat from the opening pitch to the final out.

While the first-round win came in convincing fashion, the Bruins understand the challenge ahead will be far greater.

Camden County now turns its attention to a second-round matchup against East Carteret, widely regarded as one of the top 2A teams in the state. After cruising through the opening round, the Bruins will likely look to lean on Adam Gregoryas their ace in what promises to be a much more competitive test.

If Tuesday night proved anything, it’s that Camden County has the ability to overwhelm opponents quickly. The question now is whether they can carry that momentum into a high-stakes showdown on Friday night.
