Kill Devil Hills — Camden County found itself in an absolute battle Thursday night but stayed resilient, using its power at the net to come away with a five-set victory over former conference foe First Flight.
The match was heated throughout, with the First Flight Nighthawks battling through long rallies and refusing to let Camden County pull away.
Late in the fifth set, the Bruins were forced to make adjustments when it looked like the Lady Nighthawks were on their way to picking up their first win of the season. Camden responded when it mattered most, finding a way to close out the match and remain unbeaten.
Bailey Miller was the star of the match, putting together a huge statistical night with 32 kills and forcing First Flight to continually adjust its strategy at the net.
The match also saw young, up-and-coming player Addisyn Allen step up in a big way from the service line. Allen, wearing No. 8, finished the night with an 85% serving percentage and provided another weapon for the Bruins.
Camden County now sits at 3-0, carrying its three-game winning streak into a non conference matchup at home Monday against Hobgood.
