Hot Offensive Start Powers Wake Forest past St. Christopher Academy In MLK Showcase

Wake Forest Men’s  basketball team got just its second win in 2026  oveSt. Christopher Academy  on Monday afternoon, running the gauntlet on the Sentinels 78-35 at Farmville Central for its first win of the showcase. St. Christopher chemistry and costly mistakes summing up their 5-14 season.

The game got completely out of hand in the first, with Wake Forest scoring 28 points in the first quarter alone ,and the Cougars of Wake Forest High School would never look back. The Cougar offense remained consistent in the second quarter reigning down 24 points putting it 52-23 at the break, and the reserves would come in and prove what is the future potential of the Wake Forest program out scoring the distraught Sentinnels 26-12 in the second half of regulation.

Palmer Chase led all scorers with 20 points, and Kaleb Chase would be his cohort dropping 18 points grabbing 4 rebounds and distributing 6 assists.Scotty Jones was the last scorer in double figures, knocking down two of six three point shots, being a deadly threat on the perimeter game forcing the Sentinels to spread the floor as the offense of Wake Forest marched over the Sentinels.

Leading scorer of the game for St. Christopher was Brodie Clifton, who finished with thirteen points and secured two rebounds, while Sylva Okauru had a spectacle of a double double with 10 points and 12 boards. The Sentinels played to the end , but Wake Forest’s defensive execution, offensive scoring, and rebounding proved too much of a force for St. Christopher to reckon with.

The win moved Wake Forest to 11-7 overall and 4-2 in tournament play this season, giving the Cougars momentum as they prowl over their foes in conference play. St. Christopher Academy now a atrocious 5-14 on the season on a current four game losing skid.
