Lady Nighthawks Use Defense First Response to Capture NCC Title

Nighthawks one two punch of Abbi Miles and Maddie Beaston  each poured in big offensive buckets to lead the No. 1 First Flight Nighthawks  to a surviving 47-44 victory over second seeded Currituck  to capture the 2026 NCC Women’s Basketball Championship. 

Beaston  also earned as the NCC Women’s Basketball player of the year  courtesy of her stellar showing, with the junior finding different ways to be effective going from being a three point shooter enhancing being more assertive in the paint.
