Lawrence Academy Baseball Clinches First Round NCISAA Bye Due To Conference Tournament Success, Blessing Bats The Superstition

Lawrence Academy’s 2026 baseball season was not as smooth as always. There has been ebbs and flows- and all of a sudden the tradition has stuck with the Warriors — as to which Lawrence will now have a first round bye in the NCISAA Baseball playoffs.

At 12-9 overall and 8-2in conference play, the Warriors have earned their spot as the three seed in the NCISAA Baseball Playoffs , heating up through two great games hitting wise and cleaning up the infield and mental errors that bit their butt during the regular season. Lawrence has a first round bye in advantage of creating a scouting report for the winner of Statesville Christian against Northeast Academy Tuesday night.

The hitters came on with a fun approach. The week before the conference tournament created freshened excitement around the program.

An Approach That Rakes This Time Of Year

In the NCISAA 1A , Lawrence Academy has multiple players garnished with accolades in the top 20 as the top hitting and base running players in the league.
In 21 games, the Warriors Carter Hoggard alone has stolen 20 bases this season, with their ace on the mound in Simon Lundy sporting a Cy Young ERA of 1.66 and Ayden Foster dangerous on the base paths with a .600 on base percentage.  Four of Lawrence Academy’s best hitters combining for 6 home runs - being among the best in the league striking fear into opposing pitchers - the Lawrence hit and run strategy taking no seconds off to establish chaos throughout the lineup.
It is NCISAA Playoff time. The ball flies out of the park this time of year for the LA bats.

This stage is super common to Lawrence baseball, it is going to take this group staying dedicated to committing no errors in the field.

A Lack of Depth On The Mound

Although the offensive performance has mostly always shown up , there has been a big lack of depth for this pitching staff.
The Warriors sport a 5.68 ERA on the mound and for the most part do not give up much loud contact. Their opponents have been hit by a pitch 31 times; Lawrence has thrown 12 wild pitches all season, and there have been 62 bases stolen by base runners.

In a small pitching staff , the issue is  — the number of arms. With only one ace, the Warriors pitching staff at times have struggled with command, and hitters being more dialed into their pitches.

Waking Up In The Midst of Spring

Although this season has not been up to expectation  — the boys have become a family .
Facing a ton of talent over spring break, Lawrence knows what good baseball looks like.
