Northeastern Brings Back One Of The Best, Walker JR As Assistant Coach, Under Former Coach

Elizabeth City - Northeastern is known as one of the best most elusive teams in all of eastern North Carolina producing high end athletes. The athletic program brought back former baller Shawn Walker Jr, one of the best athletes to have taken the Eagles the farthest in recent school basketball history, also having experience at the college level. 

Athletic director and head coach Ronald Nixon brought Walker in to better relate the younger players with a guy who has been in their shoes and knows what it takes to make it to the next level.

Walker, from Elizabeth City , played at Northeastern High School, took the team to a regional final against Farmville Central. The next season transferring to storied prep program in Wesleyan Christian the same program that produced Blue Blood Alums in Theo Pinson and Harry Giles. Walker made multiple stops as a student athlete at multiple universities, his longest being at Mercer in Macon, Georgia. 

At Mercer, Walker, known to be a knock down shooter, shot 43% from the field and 39% from beyond the three point line. Walker also ranked 6th in the Socon for his three point percentage, netting at 81% from the charity stripe. Hist last stop of his college career was at Murray State, former school of NBA guy Ja Morant, making Murray State his fifth school of his long traveled career, Walker would end his college basketball life with a MCL tear ending his season.
