Northeastern Stacking Wins, Athletic Prowess Snipes Hertford County At Eagleville

The game plan is the same it has always been for Northeastern: create chaos, shut it down on defense, and the offensive glass yields better possessions in scoring. 

Taking on a struggling Hertford County Bears squad  that is sitting on an atrocious 4-9 record and is at the bottom of the conference, the Eagles took their overwhelming athletic presence putting the Bears to hibernation, single handedly giving them the 55-28 over the team from Ahoskie. The victory over the Bears drove Northeastern to now be 9-1 on the season and the mojo as one of the top two teams in the conference, having just one loss against Currituck last Friday night on the road; and Martin County beating Currituck. 

 The energy being the main staple for the Eagles. 

Northeastern got off to a cold start only scoring 10 in the first quarter, Their defensive stops being the only thing keeping Northeastern in the lead with multiple missed shots from point blank. The history of what is the hoss from Elizabeth City , as the Eagles  defense shot blocking of Tevaughn Bell and Damari Mcneil sent balls into the crowd, intimidating Hertford County to shoot shots from the perimeter as the perennial prowess of Northeastern locked down Hertford County. 

Northeastern did an incredible job of taking care of the basketball eliminating chances for Hertford County momentum to get going. 

If any school has learned from playing at Northeastern,the fans and the environment of Eagleville will swallow your defense whole, when the Northeastern Eagles offense gets dialed in. 

The Eagles have nearly beaten every opponent at home by almost double digits every game in the Harbor of Hospitality. The closest home game being Tuesday night against First Flight. 

The offensive all star powers of the guards of Northeastern absolutely just stifles the noise or confidence any team has going in. 

And Friday Night was just the same. 

Z’Kobe Whidbee was the GMG Athletics Player of the game with 12 points, as Mekkhei Williams had undoubtedly the best basketball performance of his career with a double double. 

Northeastern when the offense is playing all together is a deadly team to stop and stopping them from their main objective from keeping them off the glass even harder. 

Northeastern moves on and puts its full stock as they make the trip up the road Monday night to the Border Clash held at Elizabeth City State University, and will play neighboring state program Manor High School. The Eagles in swift for the hunt of being the best team and playing at the same fashion they had at the Hertford County Christmas Tournament.
